Privacy
SayWrite Privacy Policy
SayWrite is designed for private voice drafting. Your drafts stay on your iPhone.
Effective date: 11 July 2026
Summary
We do not operate a backend server, user accounts, analytics, or advertising for this app. Speech transcription and polishing use Apple technologies on your device where available.
Information the app uses
Microphone
SayWrite uses the microphone only when you start recording. Audio is used to produce a transcript.
Speech recognition
Speech is transcribed using Apple’s on-device speech technologies where available.
Apple Intelligence
When available on your device, polishing uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence). Transcript text is sent to the on-device model on your iPhone—not to SayWrite servers, because we do not operate any.
Local storage
Drafts (original transcript, polished text, titles, folders, tags, and optional audio) are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. Settings are stored in UserDefaults on your device.
What we do not do
- We do not collect personal information on our servers (we have none).
- We do not sell data.
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We do not read your clipboard (the app only writes when you tap Copy or enable automatic copy).
Data retention and deletion
You control your data in the app:
- Delete individual drafts from the Drafts tab
- Delete all drafts in Settings → Privacy and data
- Delete retained audio in Settings
- Reset settings in Settings
Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data from your device.
Children
SayWrite is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
